THE LEGAL STUFF
Privacy Policy
EFFECTIVE 16 JULY 2026Walang arte: Tsip collects the minimum it needs to split bills, and we don't sell any of it. Here's the whole picture, in plain language.
1. What this covers
This policy explains what data Tsip handles when you use the app to split bills. It applies to hosts who make an account and to the members and viewers who open a share link. Tsip is a free app, so we keep data collection small and honest.
2. What we collect
We collect only what we need to make bill-splitting work:
- Host accounts. Your email and password (or your Google/Apple sign-in), your first name, and your optional handle and avatar choice.
- Records you create. The titles, amounts, member names, line items, and settlement info you enter, plus any receipt photos, payment proofs, and payment-method details (e-wallet or bank numbers and optional QR images) you add.
- Members and viewers. People who open a share link don't have accounts. They're identified by the link token or personal key, not by logging in.
- Usage data. As a free app, we collect basic usage data to keep Tsip running and improve it. Nothing gets sold or handed to ad networks.
3. What we never do
We don't sell your data. We don't run ads, and there are no third-party ad networks or trackers on this website. We collect what the service needs, and that's it.
4. Where it lives
Your data is stored on Supabase (a managed Postgres database) with row-level security, and files sit in a private storage bucket. Amounts are stored in Philippine pesos. We serve the app from the Philippines context, and we handle your data with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 in mind.
5. Photos and proofs
Hosts upload receipt photos; members upload payment proofs. These are private files served through short-lived signed URLs, so a link can't be shared around forever. Remember: anyone the host shares a record link with can see the amounts, receipts, and proofs on that record — that's the app working as intended. When a record is deleted, its photos go with it.
6. Your choices
You're in control of your data:
- Delete a record and its data is removed. We keep an internal 30-day recovery window in case of mistakes, then it's purged for good.
- Delete your account and we remove your profile and the records you own.
- Want a copy of your data or have a question about it? Email us — see below.
7. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top. Big changes will be easy to spot. Keep using Tsip after an update and that means you're okay with it.
