THE LEGAL STUFF

Privacy Policy

EFFECTIVE 16 AUGUST 2026

1. What this covers

This policy explains what data Tsip handles when you use the app to split bills. It applies to hosts who make an account and to the members and viewers who open a share link. Tsip is a free app, so we keep data collection small and honest.

2. What we collect

We collect only what we need to make bill-splitting work:

3. What we never do

We don't sell your data. We don't run ads. We collect what the service needs to work, and that's it.

4. Where it lives

Your data is stored in the cloud with proper security restrictions in place. We handle your data with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 in mind.

5. Photos and proofs

Hosts upload receipt photos; members upload payment proofs. These are private files served through short-lived signed URLs, so a link can't be shared around forever. Remember: anyone the host shares a record link with can see the amounts, receipts, and proofs on that record — that's the app working as intended. When a record is deleted, its photos go with it.

6. How you settle

Tsip never moves money. It only shows people where to send what they owe. Under Settings → How to settle you can save a QRPH code image — that is the only settlement detail we accept, and it's entirely optional. You can also give the method a short label so you can tell your codes apart.

Share only what a payer needs to settle. A QR code lets people pay you without you handing over the rest of your account details, which is better for your privacy. What you add is stored so it can be shown on your share links; QR images are kept as private files served through short-lived signed URLs, the same way receipts and proofs are.

You are always in control of this information. You can edit or delete any settle method at any time from Settings → How to settle. Deleting a method removes the QR image you saved for it from our servers, across every copy Tsip holds — records already settled through it keep their own history, but the stored method itself is gone.

7. Your choices

You're in control of your data:

8. Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account and all its data at any time, straight from the app: open Settings → Danger zone → Delete account, or go to app.tsip.in/settings and sign in. You'll confirm by re-typing your handle (or name), and we may ask for optional feedback first — you can skip that and continue.

Deletion is immediate and permanent. It removes your profile and everything you own: every record (tsip), recurring group, saved person, settle method (including the QRPH code images you saved), and the receipt photos and payment proofs attached to your records. Once deletion completes, we retain none of this information on our servers — nothing is kept in the background, and there is no hidden copy. It cannot be undone, and deleted data is not recoverable. Any optional feedback you leave is stored separately and anonymously, with no link back to you.

Can't reach the app? Email support@tsip.in and we'll delete your account and data for you.

9. Feedback you send us

If you send feedback or a bug report from the app, we store what you typed, plus the three things the form shows you before you send: the app version, the platform you're on, and the screen you were looking at. Nothing else travels with it — no names, amounts, records or links from your tsips.

The email field is optional. We only use it to reply to you about that report, from support@tsip.in. Send feedback without it and your report is anonymous to us.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top. Big changes will be easy to spot. Keep using Tsip after an update and that means you're okay with it.

11. Contact
